Valery Garcia is a Mexican-American award-winning filmmaker from Southwest Florida. Her work often explores the intersection of genres. Her love for relationship-driven stories bleeds into her fluid storytelling by grabbing pivotal and defining moments between characters and stirring emotions by exposing malevolent desires. She is a recent DGA student award recipient for her short film Descension, which is currently beginning its festival run. Chattanooga Film Festival and Popcorn Frights have recognized her for her previous short film, Harmonious.
As a producer, she loves forming bonds and connections with communities and knows how to facilitate artistic visions. Getting into the nitty gritty of filmmaking and working with passionate collaborators feeds her creative soul. She has produced short films recognized by Fantaspoa Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, Chattanooga Film Festival, and more.
